To run a wonderful kitchen as business is awesome, but how are you at home? Most people are so tired from a long day at work they get so tired they don’t care to do anything.
I have been guilty in the past of doing this myself, don’t be ashamed, just get organized. Simple tips to keep your kitchen easy to deal with after a long day at work.
One of my favorites is to keep foil as my best friend along with parchment paper. Talk about your easy clean ups.
As you see in the picture above, I used parchment paper to line the bottom, and foil to separate the veggies and potatoes. You can pop it in the oven at 350 degrees F. For and hour and boom, got you a whole meal in one, and such an easy clean up. Now trust this is a meal for two, for bigger families or quick get together, I suggest using a bigger pan, even Pyrex works great as well. (Please note fat was asked to keep on by clients, please for a healthy eat cut the fat off, but keep in pan with meat to cook with to keep flavor, but discard when time to eat.)
Grease drive me crazy….
Have you ever get so frustrated with the built on grease and oils that get on your kitchen vents but hate using harsh chemicals, ever getting rid of the smell is forever. So I have researched and tried almost every natural cleaning remedies you can think, but nothing has never worked better than 🍋. That’s right the lemon is a wonderful fruit. Not just the juice but the inside uses as a great scrubber, granted a few pieces will getting in but it let’s you know you are getting close to a clean vent. Next to let it sit in hot water for about 30 minutes and wow so clean, and Everytime you turn it on, its a wonderful smell. Note: if still a little sticky when you take it out the water just scrub a little in the water and the rest will shake off.
Organize these herbs….
Ever get so frustrated with your herbs/ seasoning in your cupboard, a constant knock over just to find that one to complete the taste of your master piece of a meal. Trust and believe me, it’s time to bring back those spice rice racks, I have scoured for hours in stores and on the internet, and behold……
I found the perfect little racks to put above your oven and away from the grease and heat, and yes it’s such a wonderful cheap project to DIY. Then go to the art section and grab your color or print to decorate, when done find what works for you, like a dollar store, clear enamel nail polish for a finish. Screw above oven half way above on either side of stove top, to prevent splash and burn on that wonderful spice rack you made. Now these racks can be found at your local dollar store in metal wire, and plastic. I personally like the wire racks to decorate, I find them easier to have fun with. But found using the plastic ones are cute with plastered with seasonal pictures for fun, if your the type who loves to decorate for the holidays. Again all these things could cost you a total of $5 at your local dollar store, that’s what it cost me.
Please enjoy these tips, more to come.
